Lakeview-advocating for seniors right to privacy and confidentiality

Like all residents of Canada, seniors have the right to privacy and the confidentiality of their personal information. Lakeview recognizes this right and acts as an advocate for residents in their Retirement Centre and in the community at large, through investigation, public education and action.

Community Involvement:

  • free tax clinic for low income seniors
  • free flu clinics
  • 2 research projects through McMaster Medical Centre - 1.Pneumonia, 2. Congestive heart disease and its effects on dementia
  • monthly "talk to a cop" seminars through the HWRP- seniors support officer
  • elections poll stations
  • baseball team sponsorship
  • Emergency Shelter agreements with other facilities and are in the process of setting one up for Memorial School

Clarion - Resident wheel-chair van

We are establishing a joint effort with the St. Creek United Church - use of our wheelchair van for volunteer drivers
